About On the Way to Cape May

On the Way to Cape May is a blog about the various South Jersey shore towns in Atlantic and Cape May Counties that are on the way to Cape May, NJ, the southern most shore point in New Jersey.
The blog is called On the Way to Cape May after Maurice "Buddy" Nugen’s classic summer anthem “On the Way to Cape May.” Nugen's song tells of a love story that begins in Ocean City and continues through the various shore towns with the ultimate destination being Cape May.
The cobble stoned streets of historic Cape May are full of ornately decorated Victorian homes with wrap around porches and wooden rocking chairs painted to match the color of the house. Many of these historical gems are said to be haunted, making it my favorite shore town in NJ.
When I was a little girl my family would spend 14 days in Cape May every summer and I fell in  love with the Victorian homes and the ghosts that inhabited them. I further fell in love when I witnessed a bride in her fluffy white dress and her tuxedo clad groom on the beach at sunset taking wedding photos. I decided that one day I would be the bride on the beach at sunset taking photos with my groom.
One of my favorite things to do in Cape May, besides going to the beach, is to take the various historical tours that are offered. I know so much about Cape May and it's establishments that I always amaze my friends as we walk through the town and I am able to recall various stories and histories.
Cape May may be my favorite town, but it is one of many shore towns that line the Jersey coast. There are many unique towns on the way to Cape May, each with thier own personality, and I'm going to explore the various seaside towns for myself to see what each one has to offer. A lot can happen on the way to Cape May....
